The Story of My Life: The Complication
Mid June or so I left, but it was to be short lived.
For the about week or so I was out, exams had finished, and prom was looming. I had made the decsion now to go on the basis of the sickness. Had some friends around, some good times, regular blood work. Generally getting used to how my life had changed. I visited the medical day unit at the VG site once and complained of my ears popping, the doctor then thought nothing of it. Throughout the day I found myself drinking alot of liquids, much more then usual, pissing every hour or so. With being weak from chemo, getting off the couch was a chore to begin with. At about 9:30 or so that night my Dad came home with some pizza and chocolate milk to treat us with and that’s when it all started to go wrong. After this I began to throw up. I decided it might be best in that case to head to bed for the night, I headed down to sleep and my mother got me some water to sleep with, as well as a bucket.
I was told later I downed almost 3 bottles of water before ultimatly we called an ambulence that trollied me to Dartmouth Emergancy for probably the worst night of my life. The incredible pain wasn’t even the biggest problem, pissing every 30 mins…nope…I think it would probably have to be that old coots on both sides of me, talked in their sleep, and complained when they were awake…ALL NIGHT. But I do have to thank my Mom for staying there all night, at least she could sleep through the coots…
In the morning I was transfered back to the VG, where I was told my pancreas was inflamed and I was promptly given demoral…which was just awesome. If I could spend days at a time whacked out on any drug, I’d pick demoral. It’s awesome.
This little complication, ended up putting me in the hospital, mere days before I was supposed to graduate…
