The Story of My Life: Treatment
Welcome back folks, I love to keep you hanging. Without further adue, I’ll get into it.
I arrived at the VG, and was put into one of the special closed off room, due to it being the only one open. It was between 10-11:30 at night by this time. I only really know because I was able to click on the TV and watched Family Guy to fall asleep too.
The next morning was full of adventure, this is where alot of things get a little hazzy, most of the facts should be pretty acturate. Which started with the docs letting me know that the bone marrow sample the took the previous night wasn’t a complete sample and they would have to repeat the entire test….joy. Now, if you’ve never heard this particular test (and I doubt any of you have) it starts with some local anestic and a nice needle that DRILLS into your hip bone. Oh yea, good times with that one, it was then followed with a lumbar puncture. Or as people might also know, a spinal tap. The removed fluid to…check I guess…then injected some chemo right into the spine there. The rest of the day was tests, MRI’s Catscans and a proceedure to hook up my hickman line. A central line to a main vein to make all the I.V stuff alot easier. They do the tests, map out my treatment plan and give me the scoop and I get aquinated with the doctor to be following me case Dr. White.
Things seemed pretty on track from that point on, friends came into to visit (thanks guys) parents came every evening. Not a bad little vacation despite the cancer and all. Soon there after I was out of the hospital, for a while…
HA! Got ya hooked again. I’ll be back with part 3 soon.
